The first stop on our exploratory mission into BC was Ross Lake. It’s an hour down a well-maintained gravel road just south of Hope. The neatest thing about camping here is that it is free on the American side! Hot dam! (The lake is a hydroelectric reservoir behind Ross Dam in Washington.)
The creepiest thing about camping here is that very few people are around. This combined with all the tree stumps exposed due to the low lake level make it pretty eerie. But also serene and alluring.
We went for one short and sweet little hike to Hozomeen Lake. It was a really nice trail – a little up, a little down, no switchbacks, few roots.
And with that, we left for Kelowna.
